Tonight, the Ottobar will be featuring a salute to your favorite film genre and mine: pornography. Tecla's Salute to Porn will be featuring DJ Bump and $2 Jim Beam shots. $2 Jim Beam shots and pornography? This should be any JHU student's own personal Valhalla. Bring lots of Kleenex, and check out http://www.theottobar.com for more details.
On Friday, again at the Ottobar, the original lineup from Quiet Riot will be playing. The group, featuring the vocals of Kevin DuBrow and the guitar work of Randy Rhoads, has apparently gone from hair metal to glam rock back to hair metal again. I don't know, maybe a curiosity type thing makes me want to go? Perhaps not. Check out http://www.theottobar.com for more details.
Also on Friday, They Might Be Giants will be playing at the Recher Theatre, coming straight from a show in New York and having just released an extensive collection of the best of their recorded works. And, if you can't catch them in Towson and are willing to make the journey out to D.C., TMBG will also be playing at the 9:30 Club on Saturday. Check out http://www.rechertheatre.com for more info on the Friday show, and http://www.930.com for info on the Saturday show.
And, as if that wasn't the completion to your extended weekend spent at the Ottobar, Saturday night will feature their Brit Pop Dance night. Dance the night away to the sounds of our neighbors across the pond. The doors open at 9 p.m., and the show's an 18 and over type deal. For the third time, check out http://www.theottobar.com for more information.
