Dignity
In her new album, Dignity, Hilary Duff sets out to produce adult dance music that avoids the gimmicks of her peers, Britney, Lindsay and Paris.
In the album's title track, Hilary overtly attacks these celebrities, alternatively declaring that "Where's your dignity/I think you left it in the Hollywood hills" and "It's not news when you got into bed! As everyone surely knows, Duff is the real deal.
Yet, while she attacks the phoniness of the Paris Hiltons of the world (or just those of Hollywood), her music sounds a slightly less original Gwen Stefani. The song "Gypsy Woman" echoes Stefani's first solo work with its thumping techno beats and pop vocals. Ironically for a self-proclaimed dance album, the catchiest song is the pop rock "Outside of You." Also bearable is the song "Dreamer," which updates Depeche Mode for the 21st century.
Despite Dignity's unoriginality and overall blandness, Duff still has her place in contemporary music. Several tracks from this pop-dance-rock album, when mixed by a skilled DJ, will serve a dance club well.

I actually used to hate Hilary Duff. But ever since I bought her new CD Dignity, I am loving her.
I don't completly agree with your review. People at All Music Guild and Billboard have given her rave reviews and even received 4/5 stars. (Continued…)

I like her new sound but you got the lyrics wrong dude. It's "It's not news when you got a new bag" NOT "It's not news when you got into bed"

Dignity is nothing but a perfume commercial. And anyone who watched Hilary perform on Jay Leno will know just how lame she is in concert. The girl has absolutely no talent. (Continued…)

I wonder what Otto considers talent? If hip gyration and sleeze is required to qualify than Hillary definitely lacks it. Kudos to her.
The girl can sing and unlike her contemporary peers she actually does more singing and less "look at me I'm a sex object". (Continued…)

Hilary Rox this world I have all of her c.d.'s I've watched her perform for a long time and this is a very grown up c.d.
