Businessman seeks to overturn MD speed camera law
The Maryland General Assembly recently authorized controversial speed monitoring cameras near highway work zones and schools this year.
Local businessman Daniel Zubairi has formed Maryland for Responsible Enforcement, a group that is trying to collect more than 53,000 signatures required to bring the issue to referendum on the ballot in the coming election.
He contends that the cameras deny citizens the right to face their accuser.
